- 3/4 cup butter, (1 1/2 sticks)
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

- 4 eggs

Caramel Icing
- One box light brown sugar, (1-pound)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 7 tablespoons evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
