Ford Transit Trail Vehicle Defect Class Action Settlement (File by 1/15/2027)

Consumers who purchased or leased a new 2023 or 2024 Ford Transit Trail for personal, family, or household use before June 1, 2024, may qualify for a $6,000 cash payment through a class action settlement, provided they have not already received compensation from Ford related to the vehicle.

The lawsuit alleged that certain Ford Transit Trail vehicles were sold or leased with defects associated with the Transit Trail package. Specifically, the claim states that the vehicles did not provide adequate tire clearance within the wheel wells under certain driving conditions, which may have resulted in financial losses for consumers. Ford has denied wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case.

Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible to file a claim if:

  • You are the original owner or lessee (or one of the original joint owners/lessees) of a new 2023 or 2024 Ford Transit Trail purchased or leased for personal, family, or household use.
  • You purchased or leased the vehicle before June 1, 2024.
  • You acquired the vehicle directly from an authorized Ford dealer, or through an outfitter, upfitter, or other intermediary that originally purchased the vehicle new for resale or conversion.
  • You have not received any compensation from Ford related to the vehicle, the alleged defect, or any associated economic loss, including a settlement payment or vehicle repurchase.

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print and complete the PDF claim form, and mail it to the settlement administrator. They must submit a separate claim form for each eligible vehicle.

Settlement administrator’s mailing address: Ford Transit Trail Settlement, Settlement Administrator, P.O. Box 5470, Portland, OR 97228-5470

The claim deadline is Jan. 15, 2027.
